Longdean forms part of a number of communities that exist across the school, locally, across the UK and around the world, driven by our Specialist Status.
Communities across Longdean:
Many communities exist in the school, from forms and houses through to clubs such as sports, ICT or crossover.
The community within the Longdean School Association supports the life of the school through fundraising and events. The diverse nature of the Longdean community is celebrated through events such as Who Do We Think We Are Week, and is celebrated with the array of Flags in the school Reception representing each country represented within Longdean.
Communities around Longdean:
Longdean continues to develop its role as a hub in the community. We support the work of local school partners, from supporting Primary colleagues with activities such as CPD (Staff Training), teaching and supporting Primary lessons, through to hosting Masterclasses in Maths & ICT.
We contribute to the life of the Dacorum Strategic Area Partnership working in a consortium with schools across Dacorum to delivering A-levels, Diplomas and College courses. We deliver community classes in Longdean and a sites in the Local community, with ICT courses such as ECDL delivered in the evening at Longdean and in the South Hill Centre.
We host community groups such as the University of the Third Age and The Potters Guild. Longdean works to raise funds for local communities through events such as our Charity Walk Day.
