Longdean operates a secure electronic system known as Schoolcomms to contact parents/guardians and students by email and text messages. This system is very secure and communications about your child/children will be sent once you have provided your e-mail address and mobile telephone number.
Registering your mobile number and e-mail address with the School Admin Office enables you to receive reports for your child/children immediately that they are available. If you have a Longdean Learning Platform login, you will be able to access the most recent and past reports through this route also. To register for a login, you will need to complete a Parental login request form available from the link in the footer of each page in the Learning Platform. This form must be returned to the School Admin Office before login details can be issued.

SchoolComms School Gateway will enable you to pay for trips/visits, music lessons, certain items of uniform and put money on our cashless catering system. Please follow the details below of how to download and use the School Gateway smartphone app. or access via the School Gateway.
Improved text messaging system – and you can help the school save money
From time to time, we send information to parents via text message to your mobile phone. A new, free, smartphone app for parents is now available for download called ‘School Gateway’ for Apple (iPhone 3GS or later, iPad, iPod Touch) and Android (2.3 / Gingerbread or later) devices. See instructions below.
The best and most convenient way to credit catering accounts, and pay for trips is to register with the School Gateway and pay on-line.
From a PC or laptop: go to www.schoolgateway.com
When a parent visits the School Gateway website for the first time, they should select ‘New User’ and enter their email address and mobile telephone number they have registered with the school. If they have changed their mobile number, e-mail address or not registered them, then they need to let the School Office know so as to update SIMS data, otherwise they will not be able to go any further.
The system will send a PIN code to their phone; they should enter this PIN code and their account will be activated.
From a tablet or smartphone:
1. Search for “School Gateway” in the Apple App Store/Google Play or on your phone go to www.schoolgateway.com/apple (Apple) or www.schoolgateway.com/android (Android)
2. Install the app and if you are asked then say yes to “Allow Push Notifications”
3. When you launch School Gateway for the first time, you should select ‘New User’ and enter your email address and mobile telephone number you have registered with the school. If you have changed your mobile number, e-mail address or not registered them, then you need to let the School Office know so as to update SIMS data, otherwise you will not be able to go any further.
4. The system will send a PIN code to your phone; you should enter this PIN code and the app will be activated for you.
The app will then allow you to charge your child’s/children’s catering account, or pay for trips on-line.
